Spreading festive cheer throughout our hospice
Thank you to our wonderful community for helping to spread festive cheer throughout our hospice. From delivering presents and 'Boxes of Love', to making glittery cards and performing carol concerts, our staff, volunteers and patients have been truly spoilt in the run-up to the holidays.
The treats began when our temporary Day Care Unit received some cheery visitors from Saint Christina’s School. A select group of students and their teachers came to drop off their hand-decorated ‘Boxes of Love’ full of goodies such as slipper socks, toiletries, chocolates and more. These mean so much to our patients, for some of whom it will be their only gift this year.
After selecting us as their charity of the year for 2022/23, The Hall School have continued their generous support this school year and not only designed festive postcards to send to our patients but also raised over £1,000 with collections during their Christmas events. Carlton Hill Nursery paid our Inpatient Unit a visit to drop off beautiful Christmas cards and donations raised by hosting a Christmas jumper fundraiser.
And the festive support from local schools continued with St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School, St Joseph’s Primary School, Parliament Hill School and Arnold House all hosting festive fundraisers including collections at their Nativity plays, Christmas jumper days and selling baubles.
The team at BAM Construction Ltd not only donated presents for our patients, including luxuriously soft blankets but they also arranged for lots of sweet treats to be dropped off for staff and patients to enjoy throughout the holiday season.
We were also graced with a wonderful carol concert from the British Land PLC staff choir. A big thank you to Laura, William, Anthe, Vicky, Emily, and their incredibly talented pianist and coach, Tom.
