"This is Hospice Care": St John's Hospice is proud to join national campaign

We're proud to announce that we are a part of the "This is Hospice Care" campaign, a groundbreaking collaboration between 143 hospices across England, Scotland, and Wales, brought together by Hospice UK.

Hospices like ours are at the very heart of communities, offering compassionate care and support when it is needed most. For many of us, a hospice will touch our lives at some point. Whether for ourselves, a loved one, or a friend, providing comfort, dignity, and expert care through life's most challenging times.

But just as this incredible support wouldn't exist without hospices across the UK, hospice care wouldn't exist without you.

That's why we've come together to shine a light on the essential role of hospices like ours and protect our future by asking you to consider leaving us a gift in your will. In doing so, you can help us continue to provide our vital care, ensuring that everyone has the support they need now and for years to come.

Why leave a gift in your will to St John’s?

A will guarantees that your wishes will be carried out after your death and that your assets go to the people, organisations and charities that matter most to you.

St John’s Hospice has been at the heart of our community for over 40 years, providing quality, holistic care to people living with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers when it matters most. Over these last four decades, gifts in wills have played a crucial part in our hospice’s survival and growth.

They have enabled us to renovate our hospice, creating the new St John's Hospice Wellbeing Centre, and develop unique services such as our round-the-clock Hospice@Home support and our fleet of patient and ambulance vehicles. With rising costs and growing demand for our services, these gifts are more important to us than ever before.

By leaving a gift in your will, you can be part of our story and help us be here for anyone who needs us, now and for generations to come.

Carol and her sister Rosalind.

“I’m leaving a gift in my will to St John’s because I will always be grateful to the hospice for helping make my sister’s last days content. The care given to Rosalind was sensitive and imaginative, the pain control was very well judged, and the welcome given to her family and friends was genuinely warm. I could go on about how much I love and appreciate St John’s, and I’m glad I’m able to show this by remembering them in my will.”
