Celebrating 40 years of St John's at The Dorchester
Last month, we had an incredible time celebrating 40 years of St John’s Hospice at our charity gala. The event took place in the stunning ballroom of The Dorchester and brought together 200 members of our community.
The night began with a speech from our Co-Chair, Julian Schild, and was followed by a delicious three-course meal and after-dinner entertainment by Adam Kay, the BAFTA-winning author, TV writer, comedian, and former doctor, best known for writing 'This is Going to Hurt.' We also hosted a silent and live auctions full of incredible lots. From sporting experiences and hospitality packages, to luxury European holidays, fine dining experiences, signed memorabilia and more!
Our CEO, Simon James, also delivered a speech, followed by a heartfelt and inspiring story from a patient's daughter, who emphasised the importance of hospices like St John's.
We are delighted to report that over £210,000 was raised on the night to support our hospice, and this total is continuing to rise. Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated or bid on auction items, or made pledges during the evening. We couldn’t have done it without you. We look forward to seeing you next year!
