About the event
Does your pet have star quality? We’re calling all pet lovers to show off your furry (or not-so-furry!) friends and be in with a chance at winning some pet prizes. All pets are welcome to join, so whether you have a chatty cockatoo, a dozy dog or a charismatic corn snake, get snapping!
It’s all about celebrating those that we love while raising vital funds for St John’s Hospice. Your participation will help us continue providing quality, holistic care to those who need it most in the local community.
The competition runs for one week starting Monday 17 March, with entries closing on Sunday 23 March. It is proudly sponsored by Medivet St John's Wood.
Medivet St John’s Wood has been serving our local community since 2019. We are a small team of dedicated professionals striving to provide the best possible care for our patients and clients. We are here for all aspects of your pet’s care providing everything from routine health care visits to advanced surgical procedures and hospitalisation.
By registering your interest, we will send you a reminder ahead of the competition and also let you know when entries open!
How to get involved
- Snap and share – Choose one of our 4 categories (see below) to enter and upload the photo that you think best fits the description using our online form.
- Write a bio – Tell us a little bit about your pet and the story behind the photo.
- Donate to enter – Submit your entry with a minimum donation of £2. All proceeds will go directly towards providing quality, holistic care for those in our community.
You can enter as many pets, photos and categories as you wish, but there is a £2 donation required per entry.
The categories:
- Pet Pawtrait - Snap your pet in their element, showing their true personality and living their best life. That could be from snoozing to slithering, swimming to scoffing – a photo that demonstrates who they are is what we’re looking for!
- Zoomies in Focus - Freeze your pet in mid-action, whether they're zooming around, scurrying along, or just having a good play. We’re looking for a dynamic and fun photo that is full of energy.
- Dressed to Impress - Get creative with costumes, props, or accessories! Let your pet strut their stuff in the most stylish or fun attire.
- Double Trouble - Do you and your pet look alike? Does your lizard have the same striking eyes or your guinea pig the same hairdo? Show us the uncanny resemblance in this paw-some lookalike challenge!
Why get involved in Paws for a Cause
Not only will you have the chance to showcase your beloved companion, but you’ll also join a community of pet lovers coming together to make a difference. Plus, there are exciting prizes, including an £100 Amazon voucher for each category winner.
Entries open on Monday 17 March and run for just one week, so don’t miss out.
How your support helps
- £10 could purchase new books and toys for the Children’s Room, helping to support patients' loved ones at the toughest time and to create a comforting environment for families to spend time together.
- £35 could provide a home visit from a community nurse who can provide much-needed support to patients and their families in their own homes.
- £50 could fund a group art therapy session in our new Wellbeing Centre, enabling our patients to learn new skills, express themselves and above all else, relax and have fun with one another.
