Brighton Marathon

Sign up for one of our charity places or use your own place to run the iconic Brighton Marathon as part of Team St John's.

About the event

The Brighton Marathon is a unique event which brings out the best of Brighton and celebrates its vibrant communities. This road race is the UK’s third largest marathon and the route follows alongside Brighton’s much loved seafront.

Join our team and help St John's Hospice to provide quality, holistic care when it is needed most. If you already have a place and would like to fundraise for us, we’d love to welcome you to the team. Please let us know by completing the form above so that we can support you along the way.

Why run for St John’s Hospice?

As part of Team St John’s you will receive:

  • A free hospice-branded technical running vest.
  • An Brighton Marathon finisher’s medal.
  • Finisher’s T Shirt and medal (optional)
  • One-on-one support and mentoring to help you with your fundraising.
  • On the day support and cheering from our dedicated staff and volunteers.
  • Regular e-newsletters to keep you up to date with all our latest news and activities.

Most importantly, your fundraising will help us to reach more people and provide more care. Whether it is supporting a child with a bereavement counselling session following the loss of a loved one, providing a community nurse with new clinical equipment, or providing specialist one-to-one nursing on our Inpatient Unit.

How your support helps

  • £25 could fund a bereavement counselling session for a patient's loved one, providing them with much needed support at the toughest time.
  • £50 could fund a group art therapy session in our Wellbeing Centre, enabling our patients to learn new skills, express themselves and above all else, relax and have fun with one another.
  • £250 could fund a day of expert nursing care from a Healthcare Assistant in our Inpatient Unit.
  • £500 could fund 24-hour at-home nursing care for a patient who wants to remain in familiar and comforting surroundings in the later stages of their illness.
