Over £10,000 raised at Paint the Park Pink
Thank you to all our supporters who turned out on the hottest day of the year so far to walk 5k or 10k in memory of their loved ones and raise over £10,000 for the Hospice.
St John’s Wood was awash with colour as walkers took part in our third, annual Walk in the Park. This year, “Paint the Park Pink” included a 5k and a 10k route for the very first time with the harder route proving popular with teams from local companies and runners alike.
Families brought their dogs and buggies and strolled through one of London’s most beautiful parks all in aid of St John’s. Both routes meandered through Regents Park, around the lake and through the tree lined boulevards, offering scenic views and some lucky walkers had a sneak peak at the animals in London Zoo.
Some people walked in memory of loved ones who had been cared for by our nurses and many staff members from the Hospice came along to support them too. It was great to see many familiar faces who took part last year and welcome new walkers too.
Our youngest supporter was just 4 years old and ages ranged all the way up to an impressive 92! It was wonderful to see many generations of the same family walking together in memory of someone special.
We would like to thank our sponsors Marsh & Parsons for their continuous support and a special thank you to all of our volunteers without whom the day could not go ahead.
The generous support of the local community helps us to continue to deliver our expert palliative care services on-site and in the community completely free of charge.
