Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists work with people of all ages and conditions whose abilities may have changed due to the physical and psychological effects of their illness. At St John's patients are seen by an Occupational Therapist throughout all stages of their illness. The service is offered to people in the Hospice's In-Patient unit, attending Day Services or those seen at home by the Community team.
On referral, our Occupational Therapist will evaluate your functional abilities and will assess how your home environment influences these abilities (for example, the height of your furniture may make it harder to move around or sit and stand).
Some people who have been in the hospice for a long time or have undergone significant changes may find a home assessment beneficial in alleviating concerns regarding a discharge home.
An Occupational Therapist may be contacted Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 020 7806 4039 or email hospice.info@hje.org.uk
