Scorching Sunshine for Second Summer Fayre
- Created on Monday, 13 July 2015 09:33
Last weekend for the first time, we held a second Summer Fayre at Paddington Recreation Ground. Glorious sunshine shone down on a small area of the park where hundreds enjoyed their surroundings which were perfect for such a hot day.
Over the course of the day, temperatures rose to 26 degrees so families enjoyed burgers and hot dogs from our BBQ alongside refreshing cold drinks while basking in the sunshine. Parents could also enjoy some shopping with 40 stalls selling clothing, toys and jewellery as well as delicious snacks. Meanwhile, it was clear the children were delighted with the appearance 14 fairground rides in their local park, including two trampoline attractions, the huge Helter Skelter and even Dodgems.
As always, our amazing volunteers turned up to help with the day; selling tickets, flyering and providing much-needed man power!
We are delighted that the fayre was so well attended in a new area. The support of the community is invaluable to us and we are so grateful. Thank you very much!
£10,000 was raised for St John's Hospice. All proceeds from our events go towards continuing our vital work at the Hospice, where we provide free care and support to more than 3,000 patients and their families each year.
Perhaps Paddington Recreation Ground hasn’t seen the back of us!
