Record Turnout At Summer Fayre

Thousands of families enjoyed a glorious day out at our annual Summer Fayre and helped to raise over £55,000 for St John’s Hospice – a record amount! St John’s Wood Church Gardens were buzzing with excitement as people of all ages experienced the fun of the fayre on what turned out to be 2015's hottest weekend so far.
Children were delighted by the 16 fairground rides including Dodgems, Mega Slide, Train Set and Big Wheel, with Water Zorbing being the biggest hit of the day. Over 60 stalls lined the park selling a variety of items from clothes and toys to books and an array of world cuisines fed hungry visitors.
Peppa Pig was a sell out with over 300 children meeting their favourite TV Character at intervals throughout the weekend and, for the first time ever for a Hospice Fayre, hundreds of children took part in a Frozen sing-a-long and had the opportunity to meet Princess Anna.
The event was such a huge success due to the help of over 200 volunteers from local businesses, schools, universities and even the armed forces. A special mention goes to Halifax who sent over 50 volunteers on Sunday to expertly run our Bar and BBQ.
Steve Barnes, Hospice Director commented "I have never seen a fayre so busy, it is wonderful to see so many people turning out to show their support for the Hospice. We are very lucky to be part of such a supportive community."
We would like to thank our sponsors Barclays, Knight Frank, Abbey Road Dental, Seddons and Casualty First for helping to make this event possible.
