Mike Laffy and his family are taking part in our 6km ‘Walk in the Park’ on Saturday 16th May in memory of their father and is encouraging everyone to sign-up as well.
Following a terminal cancer diagnosis, Mike’s father, Peter, was admitted to our Inpatient-Unit in 2007 for respite care and symptom control.
"Everyone was so kind and caring here," explained Mike. "Dad found this a really peaceful place. He was so relentlessly cheerful whilst here."
Mike, a resident of St John's Wood, is walking in memory of his father on 16th May. "The care my dad received here at the Hospice means so much to me and I urge others to come along for the walk to help make sure that their services continue to be available for future patients."
The Hospice walk is a 6km walk that starts at the Hospice and takes you through most of St John's Wood and one of London's royal parks, Regent's Park. It finishes back at the Hospice where you will enjoy BBQ, drinks and entertainment.
