Not many people can say they grew a moustache and raised over £1,000.00 all in one month, but Soji Bakare who works in Theatres at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth did just that.
Throughout November, Soji took part in Movember to raise money for St John’s Hospice. Movember is a month long fundraising event that has raised over £300 million since it began. All over the world fundraisers grow and groom their moustaches to raise money and awareness for health charities, and Soji decided to use this opportunity to raise money for St John’s Hospice.
As Soji’s moustache grew, so too did his fundraising total. Soji’s enthusiasm for the cause was infectious, and he finished Movember having raised over £1,100.00 for the Hospice.
Soji’s incredible total will go straight to supporting the 3,000 patients and families St John’s Hospice cares for every year. The Hospice needs over £5.2 million each year to continue to do this, and we couldn’t continue our work without special people like Soji. We think Soji is real hero, congratulations to Soji!
