Marathon Heroes raise record amount for Hospice

36,000 runners took part in the most popular marathon in the world on 13 April. As always, there were many brave runners taking part in fancy dress – Batman, Wally and Borat were just a few of the characters that graced the finish line on Sunday. This was a particularly special race for our runners as they were competing the same year that saw Mo Farah, double Olympic Gold Medal winner, come 8th in his first ever London Marathon.
This year, St John's Hospice was represented by 7 fantastic runners who completed the marathon within 6 hours, with 4 of them finishing around the 3 hours and 30 minute mark!
So far they have raised a record breaking total of £14,354.46! A huge thank you to Sarah Anderson, Nick Bradley, Mike Burn, Ben Eder, Paul Flitter, Dia Giebaly and Paul Peters for completing 26.2 miles in aid of St John's Hospice – they have all gone the extra mile in 2014. Thank you to everyone who has supported them on their marathon journey.
